Random Copolymer PP
PP Random Copolymer, also called PPR, is a polypropylene resin made by polymerizing propylene with a small amount of comonomer, usually ethylene. The comonomer is randomly distributed along the polymer chain.
This structure improves clarity, flexibility, and impact resistance compared with PP homopolymer. PPR usually has a lower melting point and is widely used for transparent packaging, hot and cold water pipes, medical parts, bottles, caps, and household containers.
Suke Plastics supplies PP random copolymer grades from FORMOSA (FCFC), FORMOSA (FPC) and Lotte Chemical.
- FORMOSA (FCFC) TAIRIPRO® PPR
- FORMOSA (FPC) YUNGSOX® PPR
- Lotte Chemical Starex® PPR

Frequently Ask Questions
Find answers to the most common questions about PPR resin. Our expert responses help you make informed sourcing and application decisions.
PP random copolymer is used for clear packaging, food containers, baby bottles, medical parts, caps, closures, hot and cold water pipes, films, and household products.
PPR contains a small amount of ethylene comonomer, usually around 1–7%. This improves clarity, flexibility, and impact resistance. PP homopolymer is stiffer and has a higher melting point.
The listed grades range from 0.25 to 70 MFI. Low MFI grades are used for pipes and extrusion. Medium MFI grades are used for containers and bottles. High MFI grades are used for thin-wall products and caps.
Yes. Some PPR grades are used for disposable syringes, diagnostic equipment, medical packaging, needles, and catheters. Buyers should confirm sterilization method, biocompatibility, and regulatory documentation before purchase.
Yes. Selected low-MFI PPR pipe grades are used for hot and cold water pipes, pressure pipes, and floor heating pipes. Buyers should confirm pipe standards, long-term hydrostatic strength, and certification requirements.
PPR can be processed by injection molding, extrusion, blow molding, cast film, co-extrusion, and injection stretch blow molding. Processing temperature is often around 190–260°C, depending on the grade.
