Apec FR1897 PC Resin Heat Resistant Grade

Covestro Apec FR1897 is a flame-retardant copolycarbonate resin offering high heat resistance, UV stability, and UL 94 V-0/V-2 ratings. With low viscosity and easy mold release, itā€™s ideal for transparent/opaque safety components like firefighter helmets.

  • Character: Copolycarbonate; flame retardant, MVR (330 Ā°C/2.16 kg) 18 cmĀ³/10 min; low viscosity; easy release; UV stabilized (fulfills the requirements according to EN 170); V-2/1.5mm (UL 94); V-0/3.0mm (UL 94); softening temperature (VST/B 120) = 182 Ā°C; available in transparent and opaque colors
  • Application: Injection molding; Visors for firemen’s helmets

Vicat softening temp: 182Ā°C with excellent puncture impact (54 J at 23Ā°C). Ideal for heat-exposed parts like visors, ensuring durability under extreme conditions.
